About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an SMT Programmer/Technician Intern. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, modifying, and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to ensure the efficient and high-quality assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). You will play a crucial role in our production line, working closely with engineers and production staff to optimize processes and maintain high product standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Programming & Setup: Generate and optimize programs for SMT machines, including pick and place (Mycronic or similar), paste printing, Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment, utilizing BOM and XY data. Create and modify component profiles and develop solder paste and reflow oven profiles. Configure machine settings and create/maintain SMT assembly folders.
• Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Analyze production data to enhance SMT process performance, troubleshoot issues, conduct first-article inspections, and provide technical support. Collaborate with teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Gerber File Management: Modify Gerber files using CAM software and prepare load sheets for pick and place machines. Ensure compliance with ESD protocols.
• SMT Line Equipment: Operate and maintain various SMT equipment, including AOI, SPI, and Automated X-ray Inspections (AXI) systems, and assist with diagnosing malfunctions.
• Adaptability & Learning: Demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to other SMT line equipment, staying updated on industry advancements.
