Quoting Specialist Intern


Reports To: President


Summary:


The Quoting Specialist Intern plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our sales team by providing accurate and timely quotes to customers. You will work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, identify the most suitable products and services, and prepare competitive quotes. Your strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to communicate effectively will be key to developing solutions that meet customer requirements.



Qualifications:


  • Current student working towards a degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and principles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical information to a lay audience.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the sales team to gather customer requirements and specifications for requested products and services.

  • Research and identify the most appropriate products and services from RPI's portfolio to fulfill customer needs.

  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate quotes in a timely manner, ensuring competitive pricing and clear descriptions.

  • Source materials and products at the best possible cost, working effectively with the supply chain team.

  • Provide technical support to the sales team by answering customer questions regarding product features and functionalities.

  • Stay up-to-date on RPI's product offerings and industry trends.



Gain meaningful exposure by working with every department to learn what they do.  Skills you will learn:


  • Experience with quoting software and CPQ systems.

  • Experience with technical writing and creating compelling quote proposals.

  • Experience providing customer support in a technical environment.

  • Proficiency in using common engineering software (e.g., CAD).



Compensation and Benefits:


  • Hourly Rate $18 - $20

  • Part time schedule averages 15-20 hours per week (2 days per week minimum)

  • Flexible hours to accomodate academic schedule

  • Partial work-from-home hours permitted after first month of onboarding

  • Flexible start date
